What is ADHD Coaching?

ADHD, short for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, is categorized into three main types: challenges with concentration and organization (inattentive), restlessness and impulsive behaviour (hyperactive), or a blend of both (combined).

Living with ADHD presents unique challenges, yet it also equips individuals with remarkable strengths.

Those with the inattentive type often possess enhanced creativity, problem-solving skills, innovative thinking, adaptability, resourcefulness, and heightened intuition. Individuals with the hyperactive type often demonstrate strong energy and a dedicated work ethic for pursuits they value, along with perseverance, ambition, determination, and a proactive approach to tackling challenges. Those with combined type may present a mixture of these.

People with ADHD are often inventors, dreamers, world changers and pioneers of innovation.

How Can I Help?

If you’re finding it challenging to manage constant ideas and projects, I can offer tailored support. Together, we can tackle persistent distractions, frustrations, and difficulties in completing tasks or keeping track of things. Drawing from personal experience with ADHD, I can give you tools that are tried and tested to work better with neurodivergent brains.

We can focus on practical strategies for handling tasks and routines more effectively and reduce giving up. I can help you track time better, prioritize tasks, minimise task paralysis and become more organised, which will enable you to more easily achieve your goals.

Emotional management is also key. We can work on reducing overwhelm, managing impulsiveness, calming racing thoughts and coping with frustration.

One thing that can make a big difference is using memory aids. I can give you tips on how to keep track of your belongings better so you don’t lose or forget them as often and give you tools to prevent you forgetting or missing important dates or appointments. We can look at effective ways to process incoming information and ask for clarification where needed, so you remember important details you might worry your brain may otherwise forget. It can take a huge strain off your brain when you are not wholly reliant on it to remember everything for you. Feeling organised and on track of things can bring significant relief and calm.

If your body or mind feels restless or hyperactive, we can work together on ways to keep your energy levels more stable and sustainable, with less major burnout.

Through personalized coaching sessions, we’ll address your unique needs and develop strategies. Even if you don’t have ADHD or are not yet diagnosed, some of the techniques can still be very useful life skills.
